THE URANIUM CAFE CULT MOVIE POSTER COLLECTION: EXPLOITED FEMALES
I have accumulated thousands of movie poster scans and I think as an occasional break from writing I can share a few of them. This way I am am able to get a post generated and stay afloat in the blogosphere and at the same time keep a visual emphasis going. I went to a couple sites lately that were nothing but writing. Retelling a film scene by scene. I tried to finish the essay but it was too damn long. And it was on an old Boris Karloff movie of all things. How much could possibly be said. So I decided to spruce up the Cafe with more image related posts as well, which I have done before, but will refocus my efforts. This is just a random sampling and no witty comments accompany them this time since I rambled enough already.
I am also working on a new category that began with the one on The Giant Claw, and that is audio clips, especially of great dialog and quotes. I may just use my flash audio player which means they cannot be downloaded, but I am finding out you can really work too hard doing this little hobby and I am not sure it is worth it really (he says with a sigh of defeat) but I think they would be cool if I went to a site to hear audio clips from a movie. I think I will do a couple from The Collector as a project here shortly and see how it turns out. And here are the poster picks for today. Enjoy my pretties.
TODAY’S THEME IS EXPLOITED FEMALES OF ONE TYPE OR ANOTHER. WHILE BARBARELLA OR JANE FONDA CAN HARDLY BE SAID TO BE TRULY “EXPLOITED” WOMEN I JUST LOVED THE RARE ASIAN POSTER SO MUCH I USED IT AS THE TEASER IMAGE. THE IMAGE STILL HAS THAT EXPLOITATION FEEL TO IT AND THESE POSTERS ARE ALL FROM ANOTHER TIME. WHEN GUYS CALLED WOMEN DOLL OR SWEETHEART AND DID NOT GET FIRED FOR IT. NOW GUYS CALL EACH OTHER DOLL AND SWEETHEART. AH, TIMES HAVE CHANGED.

I love your Barbarella poster.
Do you have it bigger?

I like that poster too. I have not seen it before. I had enlarged it already a little, but not too much to keep it from distorting too much, and touched up the colors a little. I got this is a big batch from a BT download of about 3000 poster images.

I sooo need a Gwendoline poster! That movie is the campy bestest!! And that Hollywood Vixen’s cover is pretty great too! I actually have that Barbarella poster hanging in my living room right next to a Russ Meyer’s Super Vixens poster next to an Attack of the 50fty Woman poster. It’s a sexy kinda decor:)

Great post - I’m all about the eye candy. I had a feeling Becca would be commenting on this one!

Can I hang that quote on my cubicle?

Yea, I figured you had this poster covered but just in case, ya know. I have another Gwendolyn poster as well. Like I said I have literally thousands of such scans I have accumulated. I am downloading Super Vixens now I think and am planning a Russ Meyer post shortly.

Yea, there will be more eye candy since it is a break from writing and all that. And I like to see this stuff on a site too. I am more apt to read a site that has some images for me to see or snag. I have gobs of comic book stuff I want to sort through, mostly from the 50’s to mid 70’s. Sure you can hang that in your cube. I think it is pretty non-offensive.

I love that movie. That’s a really cool poster from it. I’ve never seen that particular one before. I think it’s a great idea to post a lot of visual candy for the readers to behold. That’s what I try to do with my blog. I post some articles here and there, but post a lot of pictures of the Rat Pack and other related celebs. Cool idea. I love seeing all these posters.

I like to write and I have a few posts that are long winded, and probably they have never been read, but sometimes we do something for ourselves or the “chosen few”. I like putting in lots of images because I got o so many sites that have a scan of the DVD cover and then a long ass retelling of the film scene by scene. Some of these essays are like 3 pages long, on some movie like The Killer Shews. My essays contain spoilers to be sure, but I do not need tha much information. Most of the sites on my blogroll are heavy in the image department and a goal I have to make the Cafe look sort of like those old film magazines from the 60’s and 70’s, and so I need images since those magazines usually did too.

This site makes my heart sing. And it won’t shut up. Incredible!

Well that is my mission here at the Cafe, to bring light and peace to troubled hearts. If my posting a few exploited and humiliated female posters can bring happiness to even one heart then my mission will have been accomplished.
Thanks for the visit and please come back by for more joy.
