Dear Marco

It is a great honor to receive your comments at my humble little site. I am sincere about my feelings towards the score you composed. I feel without it the film would have suffered a lot. During the opening titles I felt the music already had a feeling of the older style of film scoring with a bit a bit more of modern technical precision. Old style does not mean bad and I try to promote the things of the past, especially films and music, that are overlooked by our modern society. It did remind me of the style of Bernard Hermann who is one of favorite film composers. I look forward to the CD music when it comes out and with your permission I will give a brief mention, a nod, to you in a post and maybe attract attention to your work which I need ot explore more thoroughly myself. I have a small readership but they are inquisitive.

Again, I am flattered you took the time from your busy life and schedule to write a comment to my tiny blog.

thanks for the kind words about the music of “Giallo”, I have done my best to write an orchestral film score in the vein of Bernard Herrmann, John Williams and Danny Elfman.
The CD of the film score should be soon released.

Suspiria and his other 70’s horror films will get a nod here someday as well as his other giallo work from that period. I typically try to be a little neutral here or find something good in even the worst sort of film, though it can be hard sometimes. Usually when the debate is around Argento the film that is brought up is Suspiria as a defense. I saw a documentary on the making of Suspiria, and some other films from that period, once and thought it was interesting and wish I could find it online.

Well I got that here in China, which means it was most certainly a pirate version. I swear, have seen movies here on DVD before they were released in the theaters back in the states. They get a hold of screening copies that are sent out to critics and the such. Worth one viewing at least in my book.

Hey Bill. I didn’t know that Giallo was out on DVD yet. I’ll definitely have to check this one out. Glad to see it’s pretty good. I like Argento. Much of his later work has been hit or miss.
