ROBERT FRIPP: RARE INTERVIEW 02

Hot on the heels of my first rare Robert Fripp interview is this second tasty little morsel. Fripp is young and intense here, looking like he did from the time of his Exposure album. He is in good spirits as he chats with the two fanboy hosts with enviable connections at the Boffomondo Show. Not sure what that is but it looks like some type of public access thing back when some of those shows were cool.  There is some info on the show at the link I posted. Seems these guys (sort of a couple Wayne’s World type  lads) really dug prog rock (as I do) and somehow got some big names to appear on their LA based cable show. Other than Fripp some people they had include Adrian Bellew, John Wetton, Phil Collins, and fusion guitarist Al Di Meola. and  I can’t remember where I got this but it looks like it may have come from Youtube as it was in four short sections which I joined together and uploaded to my Viddler account. Lots of talk about King Crimson and its break up after the Red album.  Not much more to say about this one except that it is not to be missed by Fripp and King Crimson devotees. Will have my Fripp article back up soon I hope after I get the audio file hosting sorted out. Enjoy.

Fascinating! Fripp can come across as an egotist, but he is actually quite a scholar and is a very stimulating speaker!

    thanks for posting this!

    P.S.

Does this interview continue? Also, do you practice guitar yourself? Good job on the site…

I agree he seems egotistical. It is some criticism lobbed against him but he just seems super intelligent and of single purpose often. I have read some of his writing at the Elephant talk site and his writing style is very intense. Nothing wrong a little inflated so long as you can back it and I think Fripp can do that. This is all the interview I have and I may watch it again here ins a minute. I like the way his personality mixes with the more laid back back guys on the Boffomundo Show. I may see if I can find more clips form that show and get them here.

I do play guitar but I am not too good really. I am going to be doing some original recordings soon with me on electric and acoustic guitar and bass. They will be posted here under my Beatcast category. There is an RSS link in the sidebar to some past projects where I use loops with Sony Acid 6 to come up with some stuff. But it is all pretty low level if you talk about people like Fripp of course but I have some fun with it. Like talking about neanderthal men and Einstein at the same time. The Feedburner link is:

Thanks for liking the Fripp stuff and I have a post in my draft folder that will be out soon I hope.
